Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is SATORILOCK?
A: SATORILOCK is a company dedicated to the physical storage of digital assets. The name comes from the Japanese concept of Zen, representing enlightenment and simplicity. We design and manufacture physical protection devices for securely storing cryptocurrency seed phrases and private keys. Made from pure metal materials, our products are fireproof, waterproof, and drop-resistant, ensuring your data remains safe even in extreme conditions.
Q: How is it different from a hardware wallet?
A: A hardware wallet stores private keys electronically, while SATORILOCK is a completely physical device. It doesn’t rely on software or electricity and therefore cannot be hacked or attacked remotely.
Q: Which seed phrase standards are supported?
A: SATORILOCK supports the standard BIP39 format used by wallets such as MetaMask, Ledger, and Trezor. It can record 12, 18, or 24-word phrases.
Q: Is it fireproof and waterproof?
A: Yes. The product is made from 304 stainless steel, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1200°C. It is resistant to fire, water, and corrosion. A titanium version will also be available in the future.
Q: How do I record my seed phrase on the device?
A: Each device includes a secure engraving area and metal cover plate. You can use an engraving pen or metal stylus to mark your seed words manually. For detailed instructions, please refer to the User Manual (PDF download).
Q: What if the device gets lost?
A: If you use encryption or shard-based storage, you can recover your seed phrase using the remaining parts. We recommend keeping two separate backups stored in different safe locations.
Q: Can I store multiple wallets on one device?
A: Yes. You can engrave two 12-word wallets or one 24-word wallet on a single SATORILOCK device.
Q: Does it have encryption features?
A: SATORILOCK does not use digital encryption. Instead, it employs physical structures such as locks, covers, and optional passcodes to enhance security. Additionally, users can apply their own secondary encryption methods if desired.
Q: How should I store my device?
A: Keep your device in a dry, secure place such as a safe or vault. Avoid exposure to electronic devices like cameras or other potential recording equipment.
Q: Is there a warranty?
A: We provide a 3-year limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects only. Damage caused by misuse or incorrect engraving is not covered under warranty.
Q: How can I get technical support?
A: You can contact us at support@satorilock.com, or visit our [HOW TO USE] page to watch tutorial videos.
